A native of east-central Indiana, Heather’s childhood growing up on a corn and soybean farm instilled a work ethic and appreciation for the nuances of small-business accounting that reached far beyond farming.

Combining her love of accounting with her experience in agriculture, Heather served as the Corporate Controller for a large (public-reporting) fuel ethanol plant.

I have always had a love for math and numbers. I actually decided to major in Accounting as a last resort after discovering science is not my forte. After my first accounting class, I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! Once I graduated with my B.S. in Accounting, I became a corporate accountant for the same fuel ethanol plant that Heather also worked. I worked in that position for several years, working my way into more and more complicated accounting issues. I left there to raise my growing family.
Heather and I had become great friends and kept in touch, so as her business grew, she asked me to join her. I have been excited by the opportunity to serve clients, fulfill my need for nerding out on accounting tasks, and have the flexibility to raise my family! I am a perfectionist and love details. Both of these characteristics allow me to enjoy the small details when it comes to looking at the transactional portion of small businesses; the part that others do not necessarily enjoy. It has been such a fun experience to learn how accounting and finance can impact different aspects of people's lives and businesses.
I live out in the country with my husband of 17 years (whom I met when I
was 16 as a camp counselor) and four young boys (whom I also homeschool). I love going to the movies, budgeting, relaxing outside with my husband and enjoy embroidering when I have time. Random facts about me: I began college as a pre-med major thinking I wanted to be a pediatrician! I haven't traveled as much as I'd like, but I did have the opportunity to travel to Guatemala on a mission trip my second year of college; and, Excel is how I get my math fix these days (nerd!).

I connected with Heather through our homeschool community, and when she mentioned needing help with bookkeeping, I jumped at the opportunity to combine my love for organization with my fascination with numbers.
While I may be relatively new to professional bookkeeping, my enthusiasm for learning and meticulous nature make me a perfect fit for ensuring your finances are in order. I thrive on organizing and streamlining financial data, ensuring accuracy in all transactions and making sure every dollar lands where it should.
When I’m not crunching numbers (while listening to Mozart, of course), you might find me: exploring the outdoors, gardening, working from cozy coffee shops, planning my next travel adventure, or dreaming about my future homestead (and still searching for my Brazilian cowboy!)
Thanks to Heather’s influence, I’ve developed a growing appreciation for the color blue and all things ocean-related. And after a day of balancing books, nothing beats unwinding with a good novel and a cup of tea.
